This poster-style activity is designed to help children engage with the powerful story of Prophet Yusuf (alayhisalam) and his dream, as described in the Qur’an. Through a combination of creative expression and guided prompts, students will reflect on the dream of the sun, moon, and eleven stars, and the wisdom in keeping certain dreams private.

This resource was used in our online Islamic studies class and can be adapted for use in homes, classrooms, or as part of a Qur’anic unit. It emphasises the importance of learning from the advice of Yaqub (alayhisalaam) and understanding how dreams can carry meaning, while teaching that not all dreams should be shared openly.

Features:

  • Based on Surah Yusuf (12:4) –
“When Yusuf said to his father: ‘O my father! Verily, I saw (in a dream) eleven stars and the sun and the moon, I saw them prostrating to me.’” (Hilali & Khan)
  • Promotes discussion on wisdom, trust in Allah, and discretion
  • It is a discussion prompt on why Yaqub told Yusuf not to share his dream with his brothers
  • Poster-style layout suitable for display

This activity helps students visualize a key moment from the Qur’an while reinforcing lessons in wisdom, patience, and obedience to prophetic guidance.
